Great places along my way

The bike is always first priority, when bike is unwell travelling becomes complicated. The team at Total Moto in Trencin, Slovakia (near the Chech border) were happy to help me sort out my clutch cable problem so I could be on my way. They speak English, and English speaking mechanics are rare thing in Slovakia! I can highly recomend them!

This place, La Grande Chaume in Cressanges is truly fantastic. I came here for the first time three years ago and I just continue to go back always finding a way to implement this B&B in my route adding an extra day to spend here. If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, if you like the countryside and love animals I recommend you to go here.

Annice and John who run this B&B are British and have lived in the region of Allier for 9 years. Here you can be sure that your bike is safe and that you are well taken care of. Everything is fresh and clean, the food is yummy and the atmosphere peaceful.

In the mountain region 10 km north of Carcassonne you find Castel Chambres, an hostel situated in the village Malves en Minervois. As the name suggest it is actually on castle grounds. The hostel has a bar where you can have breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening, it seems to be a meeting point also for locals wich gives it a nice atmosphere. Bike was safely parked in front of the castle inside the walls and in view from my window, the owner insisted.

In the north of Spain in the region of Catalunya I stayed in the beautiful little town Solsona and at the Hotel Solsona Centre. The owner of the hotel was most friendly and invited me to park my bike in their private garage rather than on the public parking lot outside. The hotel is just next to the old town and it makes for a pretty evening walk. On a bikers perspective Solsona has a great location next to the Pyrinees and endless opportunities to nice roads for riding.

And if you happen to need something for your bike there is a friendly motorcycle garage 5 minutes away from the hotel, O-ring Motos. I just turned up in the morning and they helped me instantly with sorting out a minor problem.
