This place, La Grande Chaume in Cressanges is truly fantastic. If you’re looking for something out of the ordinary, if you like the countryside and love animals I recommend you to go here:
Annice and John who run this B&B are British and have lived in the region of Allier for 7 years. Here you can be sure that your bike is safe and that you are well taken care of. Everything is fresh and clean, the food is yummy and the atmosphere peaceful.
Check out their own website: lagrandechaume.com
Gasthaus am Tunnel in Altenahr close to Nurnburgring is a really nice place to stay if you are a biker. It has everything you need and want for a good stay. A warm welcome and a drink in the bar upon arrival, nice and clean room with a warm shower, barbecue for meat eaters and yummy salads to go with that. Your bike is nicely parked behind locked bars so you don’t need to worry about that. They play biker-style music and when you’ve had enough beer on the terrace there is a soft bed waiting for you.
The website is currently only in Dutch and German but will soon be in English too, and the hosts, Marc and Angela, speak all three languages.
Le Moulin de Saquet outside St Emilion is a charming place to come to. The kind owners are a british-italian couple and the sourundings are absolut prettiness. I had breakfast as my only meal and enjoyed it. Other guest told me that their home cooked dinner was absolutely fantastic. If you arriwe on a sunny day you can enjoy a dipp in there pool.
