Training for bike-2014

Ever since I started travelling by bike and covering longer distances day after day I have been aware of the necessity of being in good shape. Being physically strong puts less stress on shoulders and back and allows me to enjoy the riding much more and for more kilometres a day.

I have always enjoyed sports but this year training provides more fun than usual. My dear WIMA friend Anneli from Estonia is joining me to run the Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon in Madrid. Less than a month to go, can’t wait!

Does your bike need an inspection? – visit Angel Nieto’s MOT

This is soo cool, a biker friendly MOT! Angel Nieto has opened an MOT in Vallecas, Madrid, an area where Nieto himself lived for many years. The business concept itself is very appealing. It is targeted for bike lovers and has friendly staff who help you. If your bike doesn’t pass the inspection you will be informed exactly what to do and how to do it. The centre is decorated with photos of recent motorcycle stars as well as legends from Nieto’s own time. He is a 13 times world champion, but for me he is one of three Spanish Moto GP commentators – and he is the one who always makes funny sounds when the competition gets exciting.

According to the comments on the official website for ITV (Spanish for MOT) the legend was there himself for the opening. Several bikers have put up comments and they are all very positive.
