Running into culture

In Barcelona there is always something happening and as a foreginer many of the events come as a surprise to me. As I returned from my run today I heard drums and saw a procession with the “gegantes”. Following them proved to be a good decision, since they led me to a square where three castellers clubs were starting their performance of building human castles. Jolly good entertainment.

Castellers - people building human towers, another popular sport here. The youngest castelliers are the ones who gets sent to the top of the tower. Breathtaking to watch.
